the nerdy talk: manifesting generator 2/5, Taurus-Leo-Leo, INFP, Enneagram 7….what am I missing?
“manifesting generators are multi-passionate people who are here to do and accomplish many different things.”-Stephanie toscano, human design reader
I’ve had a paint brush in one hand and a camera in the other since I was a kid.
In my 20’s I learned from my mother how to paint murals and specialty finishes in homes. Later, while Mom’s business evolved into the furniture paint business, I went off to the Academy of Art and worked towards my BA degree in Photography, all while raising a family. *That shit ain’t for the faint of heart, I still call my mom to apologize for anything I did as a kid that made her life difficult.
i tried and failed at many different things
Turns out when you’re inherently created to operate a certain way, some occupations just aren’t meant for you. I tried and served many years in insurance and banking, even owning my own brokerage at one point, but it just didn’t light me up the way being an artist and helping other people with their purpose does. I made the leap into full time photography and up until quarantine, was flying all over the place and capturing couples and their loved ones.
The plus side to being in the corporate world is when you’re fed to the sharks, you learn a helluva lot of stuff.
Ok, so we ended up in a quarantine and being a destination wedding photographer was literally the worst career choice for the moment. You know what? I adjust, as I always do. I’ve been homeschooling my kids and using my design experience to make homeschool templates and things to help make learning fun. I’ve also been putting more time into our family business (Paint Pixie Brushes) and we just launched my daughter’s watercolor brush and paints sets so families can have more intentional quality time creating WITH the kids in their lives (or their own inner child).
